| Daerah Istimewa Jogjakarta is province that
have status as a special region of the Repbulic Indonesia. The Special status
region is reffrred to the history of Jogjakarta as the capital of Republic
Indonesia, at 1945 as united of region between Kasultanan Ngayogjokarto
Hadiningrat (Jogjakarta) and Kadipaten Pakualaman that make announcement
to becomes a part of Republic of Indonesia that was proclamated by Soekarno
- Hatta on 17th Augusr 1945. At the West of Jogjakarta is Merapi mountain
- (Most active Vulcanic Montain in the world) that have heights about
2,920 metres. Merapi mountain is become famous because the eruption had
uniqe form, and similiar with the vulcabic mountain Visuius in Italy.
Until at the present time the Merapi mountain is very active, the top
of Merapi mountain always have a smoke that becomes the uniqe view that
becomes background of natural view of Jogjakarta.
Daerah Istimewa Jogjakarta have land about 3.186 km2 and have 3,278,599
peoples (depend of database at 1995) and divide becomes 5 regions, the
regions are , Jogjakarta City as capital city of Daerah Istimewa Jogjakarta
Province, Kabupaten Sleman with capital city Beran, Kabupaten Bantul with
the capital city Bantul, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul with teh capital city
Wonosari, Kabupaten Kulon Progo with the capital city Wates
After the death of Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX as Governor of Daerah Istimewa
Jogjakarta that becomes the governer now is the sons of Sultan Hamengkubowono
IX is Sultan Hamengkubowono X.
